This is my first time writing from the new blog site, so be patient with me as I try to get all the settings lined up! I got home around 11pm last night, so I haven’t had a chance to do too much, but I could not wait any longer to show you what an amazing couple I worked with yesterday!
I met up with Jennifer and her sister, Selena, and Bella Me Salon. This gorgeous space downtown on the square had amazing light which really helped us to play a bit! I am absolutely in love with this sofa:

I headed home to grab the rest of my gear, then over to the wedding spot! I ran into Jennifer’s dad on the way there putting up these great signs to help guests find their way!

Once I arrived on location, I could tell there would be tears today!

Now for the makeup…

And before we knew it, it was time for the dress…

It’s almost time!!!

After getting dressed, we decided to head out to the beautiful gazebo for some outside shots before the guys arrived. Jennifer had this cute photo idea to do with her grandmother. So sweet!

Jerry’s parents quickly arrived, and I was able to grab a quick shot of Jerry’s mom helping our cute ring bearer get dressed!

Once the guys arrived, I knew the party was on. This super fun group decided an air band photo would be the way to go… (Don’t worry, Jennifer – we made them do some regular shots, too!)

We also got some sweet moments with Jerry and the bridesmaids…

Once everyone was dressed, I caught the bride and groom talking to one another through a door. I had to sneak in for a photo. This sweet moment pulled at the heart strings a little! No matter how many weddings we attend and even work, I love being a part of moments like these!

We had a few scary moments with brief rain, but when it was time to get married the sun came out shining beautifully! Jennifer and I decided to go out on the deck in this gorgeous sunlight!!

It was almost time, so I headed downstairs to set up for the ceremony. I caught Jennifer peeking out at the crowd!

So one of the coolest features of the wedding and bridesmaid dresses were POCKETS!! So we had to feature a photo with the gals in their pockets. I believe that’s where they hid the hankies!

And of course some of the lovebirds…

The bridesmaids all lined their flowers up on the head table. I thought the bright colors were perfect.

Despite hating his picture taken, Jerry was a good sport when I took them out to a nearby barn!

Photos with friends… note Jerry is strategically somewhere else. Don’t worry – he could run, but he didn’t hide! I’ve got lots more when he thought I wasn’t looking.

This shoot was near and dear to me as I have known this mother-daughter pair for over a decade! Amy and I met on the first day of 7th grade and quickly became best friends! Even now and living in different parts of the state, we talk several times a week. We spent so much time at one another's homes that Becky was like a second mom to me!

I was shooting Baby Ainsley up in Elizabethtown the weekend of Mother's Day. Amy and her mom live in the Louisville area, so E-town is about half way between us. Amy asked if I would mind to take some photos of her and her mom. As most of you probably know, I almost never do portraits for my close friends. It makes me nervous!! But this was pretty laid back, and I got to capture this great mother-daughter duo.

At this point I'm sure Amy was telling some amazing story...

I decided to kick Amy out for a few minutes and just concentrate on the lady who was Pretty in Pink!

I'm sure I said something amazingly funny right here.

Amy and her mom shared a story about a photo of her as a child sniffing a flower. They knew that Amy's Grandpa would love a grown up version, so we took a few!

Of course I had to get in my signature feet shot...

Before we knew it the sun was setting and it was time to head out! I won't embarrass Amy with how she locked the keys in the car and we had to wait for AAA. Oh wait...

Terri & Junior's Engagement Shoot

We first met Terri & Junior at the beginning of the year at Bridal Fest 2011. We could see a bit of their personalities from the beginning as Terri was busy gathering all of the details and Junior was full of smiles and slightly interested to hear that we do offer HD options for our videography.

Last week we met up to discuss their October wedding. It is amazing the time and attention these two have put into their special day. It is going to be amazing! We had planned to shoot their engagement portraits last Monday, but Mother Nature was not having it! I think it turned out for the best, though, because yesterday we had so much fun!

We started at L.T. Smith Stadium where Terri and Junior wore their favorite team colors. Of course Terri had home advantage on this one as she works at WKU!

I asked them how Junior proposed. He actually went to Terri's office and got down on one knee. He was a great sport when I asked him to get down on one knee again for this photo opportunity!

Today I was so excited to have a press pass to the 2011 BG Hot Rods Bark at the Park event! Since Ben had never been to a baseball game (and Adam and I had never been to the Hot Rods), we headed to the ballpark!

I actually found out about this event from my sorority sister, Rachel. Rachel brought her husband and her two westies. Preston (seen below) has a blog at www.prestonspeaks.com. Check it out if you have a chance!

The Bark at the Park event was a great time as ballpark guests could bring out Fido and Rover to enjoy the game. You can view several shots on our home site, www.choicemediaproductions.com. Enter the site, click on View Photos, and enter the password BGHOTRODS.

Right outside the ballpark there was an agility course set up, courtesy of Masters Kennels.

Also outside the ballpark were a few kids playing catch.

Once inside there were dogs of all sizes and breeds!!

As the game got started a group of little league-ers held up a large American flag as the national anthem was sung.

Then it was time to PLAY BALL!! I had forgotten how much I love to shoot sports!! Here are a few of my favorite shots of the game itself.

Several nearby rescue organizations were set up in the stands to encourage families to adopt. I was so glad I got to capture this sweet picture!

We ended up heading out a bit early though, since Ben was getting tired!

On the way out I ran into three more sorority sisters!!!

In addition to the BIG giveaway this month (more info here), tomorrow, May 1st, we'll be giving away our first of many small giveaways that will go out in the next few months. To enter these small giveaways, all you have to do is like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter! Anyone is eligible for these small drawings.

Since May's theme is First Comes Love, we felt it only appropriate to give away a chick flick! The first giveaway will be a copy of America's Sweethearts on DVD.

The first part of the First Comes Love event begins in just a few hours!! All who "like" our Facebook page or follow us on twitter are eligible for the small prizes throughout the event. There will be three grand prize challenges (one each month) for which you will need to enter separately. The May grand prize is geared toward engaged couples (i.e. First comes love), but it is open to anyone. The details of the prize (so far) are in the photo above. To enter, simply post your favorite picture (of you, your fiance, your dog, anything!) on our Facebook wall between May 1st and May 15th. We'll then create a photo album of all the pictures and ask your friends to vote by liking our page and then liking your photo in the competition album (must do both for vote to count - 1 vote per person). A busy week passed faster than a speeding bullet as I was out of town and Adam was all alone with Baby Ben for the first time. Luckily he survived!

We are focusing our efforts on social networking in the upcoming weeks to get our name out and about within the community. We've found that although we keep busy, the majority of our weddings are out of town. While we don't mind to travel, we would love to celebrate with couples locally as well. Keep an eye out on our Facebook (www.facebook.com/cmpweddings) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/cmpweddings) pages for upcoming contests!

And before we forget - Happy Easter! We do believe that Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny may be trying to one up the other because Ben has been thoroughly blessed at Easter - probably more than Christmas! In our defense, at Christmas he wasn't old enough to really understand what anything was.

We are so happy to be teaming up with Robin Shea again! We enjoyed filming her television show last year, but this southern lady has headed to the big time! Southern Fried Fitness can now be seen on stations across the nation! Sarah's Having a Baby!

I was so excited today to shoot another maternity session. I haven't shot one since doing my own about 8 months ago now. In case you missed, check them out here.

Sarah is a friend from work who is expecting a little girl named Addisyn in just a few short weeks! We wanted to shoot outdoors, but we had some abnormally hot weather today and Addisyn was not having it. The great news is that it gave me a chance to practice in my studio. This is definitely where I have the least confidence as most of my jobs are weddings and I shoot on the go! When I have control over everything I tend to get nervous!

I took advantage of this time to clean behind my furniture and get a nice sillouette in front of our living room window.

Then we headed down to the studio where Sarah was very patient as I got back into the habit of using my studio equipment. It's hard to believe it had been almost a year since I'd shot anything in the studio since I didn't take many jobs toward the end of my pregnancy last year. I was very happy with the result though!

Sarah was such a good sport and one of the cutest pregnant ladies EVER! After fun in the air conditioning, she let me drag her outside. I'm sure glad she did, because these turned out gorgeous!!

Now I can't wait to get my camera on baby Addisyn!!

A Day at the Park with Kasey & Alex!

Today I was lucky to spend the afternoon with a recently engaged couple, Kasey & Alex! This was perhaps one of the most fun shoots I've done. Kasey and Alex are high school sweethearts who have been together for six years! You can see how much fun these two have had over those past 6 years, and I know they will have lots of fun in the future, too! Here's a preview of today's session.

Church Musicals!

We are so excited to have been a part of another great production from Eastwood Baptist Church's Spring Children's concert. We've been working with Dana and the rest of the extraordinary music ministry for several years now, and we are so happy to be able to film and produce their show so that the congregation can remember their productions for years to come.

Another recent church musical production we were proud to be a part of was Moses! The Musical put on by Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Adam was able to both Stage Manage and film this production, and looks forward to working with Holy Spirit in the future.

If you know of a church production coming up, keep us in mind. We love capturing the moments that shape lives!

A Whirlwind Weekend

This wekend was full of fun surprises for Choice Media Productions! We were honored to be asked to be a part of the exclusive Ashcroft and Oak Bridal Event at the Greenwood Mall over the weekend.

In addition, we filmed Jeni & Stephen on Saturday at Hillvue Heights Church.

As if that wasn't enough, we also filmed Eastwood Baptist Church's children's musical on Sunday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Choice Media Productions, and of course from our son as well:

Those of you that follow our blog closely have probably been wondering where we've been! Well, our newest addition to the CMP family, Ben, has been very sick. He's had 2 ear infections, RSV, and pneumonia! The poor guy has been on breathing treatments for a few weeks now.

Of course you can count on mom to capture everything, including that, on camera! Today we went outside to enjoy the beautiful day.

It was nice to see little man feeling a little better! Don't worry - it's not been all fun & games! Adam has been hard at work editing, and we've booked 8 new weddings this month! It's going to be a great year.

Eastwood Baptist Church Christmas Musical

We are excited to once again be the official videographer for Eastwood Baptist Church's Christmas musical. Three years ago we were contacted by Eastwood Baptist Church about videography for their Christmas show. We've now been doing 4 to 5 shows a year for them ever since! They are a warm and welcoming community. This show is free and open to the general public. Performances are tonight and tomorrow at 6pm!

We are excited to report that we are on our most recent ceremony video editing project for the Eagle family. It's great to be caught up after the summer/fall wedding rush!

Underwood-Mulwitz Sample

This week we received positive feedback from Belinda on her wedding video. She did, however, mention that she found her own wedding ceremony to be boring and asked if we could make her a montage of the ceremony instead. We were happy to oblige and Adam has created that for her wedding DVD, but he's also leaving the full ceremony just in case Belinda changes her mind and would like to watch the full thing one day! That's one of the great things about our video contracts - we allow up to 2 hours of re-editing at absolutely no charge to the client!

Today was a bittersweet day as I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family, but it was also the first time I'd been away from our new son, Ben! I wasn't away too long, however, since the weather was chilly and poor Hattie was getting cold! In just 20 minutes we were able to walk away with a photo shoot that yielded over 120+ good frames. I look forward to seeing this family again in the spring for Hattie's one year photos. Until then, here's a sample of today's shoot.

CMP welcomes a new addition!

Choice Media Productions is happy to announce the newest addition to our family - baby Benjamin! Benjamin Aiden was born September 28, 2010 at 8:33pm weight 6lbs, 8 ounces and measuring 20 and 3/4 inches.

We have chosen to take off the month of October for photography & videography jobs, but we are continuing to edit our outstanding projects.

With the newest member of our family joining us next week, we've been hectic finishing up last minute business details! Last weekend we were honored to be a part of the Belton wedding, and this week we are proud to capture the Potter wedding. Talk about working until the last minute!

We've also recently completed editing for the Bray wedding, and we look forward to delivering it this week. We've moved on to editing the Burton wedding, and we can't wait to celebrate with more couples this year!

Adam is currently loading up the Choice-mobile (not really, that's just what we call his vehicle) to capture Belinda & Maquel's special day! They have asked us to be part of everything from getting ready, photo taking, a ceremony at the beautiful State Street Baptist Church, and a lovely reception at the Sloan Convention Center.

As most of our clients know, we have our first little bundle of joy joining our family in just a few more weeks! To capture our family at this special time, we did our own version of the self-portrait/maternity portrait... we'll call it a self-maternity-portrait! While these were a little tricky given the photographer was IN the photo, we still wanted to share a little about our current family dynamic in these samples below. After all, it's not often that a photographer gets to photograph herself!!

We've started capturing (moving to the computer) the files for the Bray wedding, our only unedited wedding!

Yesterday Adam was able to drop off the DVD for the Underwood-Mulwitz wedding. We were sad to discover that Christin is down with the flu, but we hope she will feel better soon. We love that our clients quickly become friends. Here's a picture from her wedding of Christin with her daughter to see how great Christin looks when not down with the flu!

Adam met with another couple today as they prepare for their September wedding. They booked us on one of our last openings between now and when we are expecting our little bundle of joy! We are excited to be a part of their special day on September 18th, and we've let baby Ben know that he'll have to wait until after their wedding before his arrival!

We are steadily progressing on our outstanding projects! A rough draft of the Hulen-Harbin wedding video is complete, and Adam is planning to discuss details for the reception portion of the video with the couple this week to determine what else they would like to add to their final product!

In addition to wedding services, we are happy to provide other services to the community. Our most recent project? Adam filmed Eastwood Baptist Church's Homecoming show on Sunday evening. This is the 4th season of the show for Eastwood and our 2nd year being asked to film it. The gospel production featured the bluegrass stylings of Eastwood's choirs and provided a fun evening to all involved! Adam is hard at work capturing the footage and hopes to finish the show this week.

If you know anyone in need of video services, please don't hesitate to contact us. For photography, unfortunately, we are not available again until 2011, but keep those referrals coming!

We are excited to have finished the ceremony for the Hulen-Harbin wedding, and we look forward to working on the reception this week.

Editing Update 08/15/2010

With a baby boy due in just 8 more weeks, we are hard at work getting caught up on our editing projects. We have recently completed editing for the Mulwitz-Underwood wedding for which we had the honor of photographying and videographing for this amazing couple. We also enjoyed taking a few photos of their new blended family!

We have also recently finished editing the wedding video for the Welter-Hawbaker wedding that we shot in the Chicagoland area.

We are currently working on editing the Hulen-Harbin wedding video as well as the Stringwell-Hammond wedding photography.

Following these projects we will be ready to edit our final ourstanding wedding video, the Bray wedding. Congratulations to all of these amazing couples!
